A Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) is now open in the town of Hinesburg at the Hinesburg Town Hall.

The DRC will be open Sunday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The joint DRC, a temporary facility established in partnership between Hinesburg, the state of Vermont and FEMA, will have disaster assistance specialists available to help disaster survivors apply for FEMA Individual Assistance, upload documents needed for their application and answer questions in person.

You do not need an appointment to visit a DRC.
- the DRC is staffed with Individual Assistance experts, should anyone need help with: registering for FEMA assistance, checking the status of their registration, uploading documents, Denial letters, appeals, whether they qualify for any type of assistance, or have any questions at all, GO TO THE NEAREST DRC.
- Denial letters usually mean “need more information”. Emphasize to people to not give up if they’ve received a Denial letter. Go to the nearest DRC or call 1-800-621-3362 for assistance.
- If private roads or bridges were damaged or destroyed limiting access to their residence, they may be eligible for FEMA assistance. They must register for assistance. If more than one residence is impacted by the damaged road or bridge, each residence should register. (see the attached Fact Sheet).
- the DRC is staffed with a Hazard Mitigation expert, to assist people in building back better and to build back safer. Great asset for your people.
- the DRC is staffed by the Small Business Administration, who can provide low-interest loans to individuals and businesses impacted by the disaster.
- the final day for people to register for FEMA assistance is October 21, 2024.
