Recreation Committee
Meets TBD
Join the Greater Richmond Recreation Committee
The Richmond Recreation Committee seeks new members to provide the community with diverse recreational activities for all ages. The current committee has created a community recreation website that lists recreation activities in the three communities, have purchased snowshoes available on loan at the Richmond Free Library, held a green up cleanup day at Volunteers Green, wrote grants, purchased lawn games available at town events, and collaborated with committees that have recreation priorities (Trails, 3 Parks, and ARPA committee).
If you would like to know more about the committee’s work check out the agenda and minutes and current work plan on the Richmond website. The Richmond Selectboard approves all members. Please contact Duncan Wardwell for an application or questions at dwardwell@ . richmondvt.gov
Hope you can help keep the momentum going, as there are new recreational opportunities coming up in the future!
RECREATION COMMITTEE HISTORY
PARK USE FORM
The Recreation Committee is comprised of members from Richmond, Huntington, and Bolton. Our work is guided by the 2018 Town Report and we use it to determine areas of community importance to focus on. We also explore what other recreation departments are doing in the state and nationally to keep communities mentally and physically well in rural areas.
We provide support for events and programs and offer partnership to local groups and organizations. We also seek collaboration with other town committees that impact recreation users. For example, in partnership with the Richmond Free Library, we have made free snowshoe rentals available to the three communities.
We love to hear input from community members about areas of recreation that they are passionate about or ways we can better serve the community. You may submit questions, comments, or concerns to dwardwell@richmondvt.gov
Please see below for the committee mission, vision, goals, and current work plan.
