Report from the RCC speaker’s panel subcommittee on their recommendations for speakers, and further discussion to include:
*the theme of our speaker panel and decide on the title of this public education event.
*the process by which we might receive questions from the public, collate those questions, and share them with speakers.
*Discussion of how to handle the 3 sets of comments/advice/requests sent to us regarding the panel and speaker series.
8:15 Review and approve the RCC report for 2022 for the Richmond Town Annual Report.
8:25 Conservation Reserve Fund (CRF) request from the RCC for funds for compensating the speakers in our speaker series.
8:35 Further Discussion of Andrews Community Forest Committee proposed Management Plan changes. See https://www.richmondvt.gov/calendar/meeting/andrews-community-forest-10-25-22 and click on the ACFC MP comparison with original link for more details.
9:15 Reminder and brief discussion about the Richmond Racial Equity’s scheduled virtual event on Zoom–a public presentation and discussion at 7:00 on Wednesday, January 18 with Judy Dow of the Winooski Abenaki. She will discuss how we as individuals and as a community can engage more deeply with the land we live on through the Indigenous practice of land acknowledgment. In a second session, Judy Dow will lead us here in Richmond in a similar exercise of pride and gratitude. We are planning that session (date to be determined), in collaboration with Radiate Art Space and Richmond Racial Equity. Scott Silverstein specifically invited all members of the RCC to these events and encouraged us to participate.
